The Napa Police Historic Society (NPHS) was formed in 2006 as a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and display historic artifacts, honor present & former NPD employees, and educate the public about the unique history of the NPD.

The NPHS has collected hundreds of vintage photographs and newspaper articles detailing the 135+ year history of the NPD, researched genealogical histories of many former employees, and has begun an oral history project. The NPHS has displays of historic photos and artifacts in the lobby of the NPD, and at the Napa Firefighter's Museum.
